Orchard Notes: Cross between Golden Delicious and Ingrid Marie developed in the Netherlands in the 1950’s. Elstar is still one of the most popular apples in Europe. The flavor actually improves after four weeks of storage. Valstar is an improved strain of Elstar with a brighter, fuller red coloring, with the same quality.
